The New Year is always a time for taking stock and reviewing activity, and that’s no different in the property sector. Even if you feel that your property portfolio is ticking away nicely, it’s always a worthwhile process to set aside some time to review how things have been running over the previous period and whether there are opportunities to make the portfolio work harder for you.
Working with an expert property consultant can often give you a new perspective and identify areas where improvement can be made. Whether you have a large portfolio or a single investment, there are always questions that you can ask yourself during a review.
Are you confident that all rent reviews have been actioned and that your tenants are paying a market rent?
When was the last time you inspected your properties both internally and externally to make sure that your tenants are keeping the property in good repair?
When was the last time you had your Buildings Reinstatement cost reviewed for your buildings insurance? You may be paying too much in insurance premiums or conversely you may be underinsured.
At Neil Mason Associates, we have been providing property consultancy and advice to institutional investors, major financial sector companies, educational and family based trusts and private investors for many years now. We’ve handled everything from a pension fund’s £65m national portfolio to one-off investments held by local individuals.
Excellent advice and personal service has always been our stock in trade. Our team of expert surveyors has unrivalled knowledge of the local area. With the merger with Blacklee Smith last year and the expansion of our building surveying team, we can now offer our clients many services in-house.
