Disposal of ex NHS renal unit on Harborough Road, Northampton

Posted on 13 April 2016.

Neil Mason Associates was recently appointed by NHS Northampton to dispose of part of its estate. Harborough Lodge, the ex renal unit which had been empty for some time, was sold earlier this month.

The 4,411sq ft building, situated in a mixed business and residential area to the north of Northampton, was sold with D1 use and the potential for residential development subject to planning.

There was considerable interest in the building from those looking to continue with its D1 use and those looking to take advantage of its development potential.

After negotiation with the interested parties, the unit was sold for considerably more than the asking price to a provider of healthcare services in the assisted living sector.

Neil Mason Associates has previously worked with NHS Northampton to negotiate the sale of an ex respite care unit in a residential district to a local property developer. Prior to that, the team had negotiated the sale of a Grade II listed building adjacent to the A&E Department to an investment purchaser.
